About Us

A research-driven literacy initiative that supports teachers, students, families, and school leaders to understand, teach, assess, and remediate reading

Help Me Read is a forward-looking, research-driven literacy initiative committed to transforming the way reading is taught and learned. It brings together teachers, students, families, and school leaders to understand, teach, assess, and remediate reading using evidence-based methods. Grounded in insights from the science of reading and real classroom practice, Help Me Read bridges the gap between research and everyday learning. Its resources are designed to make reading accessible and achievable for every learner, especially those who struggle.

Our Purpose

Our purpose is simple yet powerful — to make reading accessible, measurable, and joyful for every learner. We aim to achieve this through rigorous research, scalable teacher development, and community-centered interventions that foster collaboration and shared growth.

What We Do

  • Evidence-based Resources: Clear, ready-to-use modules on phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
  • Practical Interventions: Remedial programs, diagnostic screeners, and lesson plans that help teachers support low achievers effectively.
  • Teacher Research Support: Action-research templates, assessment tools, and data analysis guides for educators and teacher-educators.
  • Capacity Building: Short courses, webinars, and downloadable materials for teachers, parents, and school leaders.
  • Community & Collaboration: Forums, case studies, and partnerships that connect schools, families, and researchers to refine and scale literacy practices.

Who We Serve

Help Me Read is designed for:

  • Teachers seeking structured, proven reading interventions.
  • Teacher educators and researchers engaged in literacy-focused classroom studies.
  • Parents and caregivers who want practical strategies to support reading at home.
  • School leaders and policymakers striving for equitable literacy outcomes in diverse learning contexts.

Research & Impact

Help Me Read serves as both a resource hub and a living laboratory. The initiative integrates real-world classroom trials, pilot studies, and continuous validation to ensure every tool is effective and evidence-based. Ethical documentation and data-driven insights guide every project, ensuring measurable improvement in reading outcomes across contexts.
